How this works
- Data comes live from deadlock-api.com, which aggregates recent public match data.
- Street Brawl win rates are the main signal: for each item, how often this hero won when they drafted it, compared with the hero's overall Street Brawl win rate.
- Items are only compared against other items of the same tier, because the draft offers you choices within a tier, and later tiers only show up in longer games.
- Small samples are shrunk toward average (a rarely-picked item needs a lot of evidence to score far from 0), so a grade on a "low data" item is a weak hint.
- Expert picks: how often players at the chosen rank buy the item on this hero in normal games, and how many published in-game builds include it, each ranked within the item's tier. Items near the top of both are marked Core and get +1 pt (+0.5 for commonly picked items). An item only counts if it's in at least 10% as many builds as the hero's most common item, or bought in at least 2% of high-rank games, so Street Brawl-only Legendary (Tier 5) items get no expert bonus. Street Brawl itself cannot be filtered by rank.
- Ranked win rates are deliberately not used: in normal games a player's first big item (e.g. Phantom Strike on Abrams) is compared against items bought later by players who are already ahead, so core items look bad. Street Brawl drafts don't depend on souls, so its win rates are much less skewed.
- Enhanced items (β¦): Street Brawl sometimes offers a stronger version of an item. Normal and enhanced picks are scored separately, both against the same "typical pick of this tier" baseline, so you can compare an enhanced offer directly with normal ones. Enhanced samples are small, so each one is pulled toward "the normal version + the usual enhanced boost for its tier" unless its own data clearly says otherwise.
- π· Scan reads the item names on the draft screen with on-device text recognition (Tesseract.js, downloaded once from jsDelivr). Photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded. A card labelled "Enhanced" is matched to the nearest item name.
- The Β± after a win rate is its 95% margin of error. Two numbers whose margins overlap are not clearly different.
- Valve tag (β ) is the game's own draft table, which marks some items as "Good" for this hero.
- Win rate is correlation, not causation: an item can look good partly because of who tends to pick it. A score within about Β±1 pt of zero on a few thousand games is within noise.
